UK travel company ordered to liquidate – in business 7 years | UK | News
A UK travel company has been ordered to wind up and cease operations, an official notice has revealed. Winding-up orders are issued after a petition from creditors (parties to whom a company owes money). Creditors apply to a court to close a company when it has become insolvent and cannot repay its debts. In this case, T&C Travel Limited has been given winding-up orders, according to an official notice shared today in the London Gazette.
The company has a registered office at 31 Office 31 Bizspace, Courtwick Lane, Wick, in the seaside town of Littlehampton, BN17 7TL. According to Companies House, it was incorporated in 2019. The company’s website has since been taken offline. According to the Gazette notice, the petition was filed on January 6, and the winding-up orders were given on June 10.
In March of this year, the Traffic Commissioner formally revoked their public service vehicle operator’s licence and disqualified their transport manager. T&C Travel had specialised in offering public service vehicles and operated coaches.
The official receiver was named as J Peacock. The Gazette notice revealed that J Peacock has been given the capacity of liquidator.
It is one of a number of travel and transport companies that have closed down in recent months. A UK travel agency that has been operating for more than four decades entered liquidation only a matter of weeks ago.
Meanwhile, an HGV training group has plunged into liquidation in another major blow for the UK’s transport industry. ELI Group, based in Bristol, offered comprehensive HGV and logistics training and is a major centre for learner drivers.
